Book Club: Art Thinking by Amy Whitaker

  • Pen + Brush 29 East 22nd Street New York, NY (map)

In our first meeting of the POWarts Book Club, there will be a discussion with author and former POWarts President Amy Whitaker about her new book Art Thinking: How to Carve Out Creative Space in a World of Schedules, Budgets, and Bosses. Art Thinking outlines a framework that combines the mindset of art with the tools of business, and features stories of artists and creative workers across both fields. She explores seven specific approaches, which include taking a step back to see the big picture, finding creative collaborators, structuring skillful risks, and much more. The event is generously hosted by Pen + Brush

Purchase your copy and start reading now! The evening’s discussion will focus on Chapter 3: To the Lighthouse, about finding inspiration from big questions that drive you forward into unknown territory rather than specific smaller goals you can see in advance.
