In July 2022 the Supreme Court ended the constitutional right to abortion by overturning Roe v. Wade, and numerous states quickly passed sweeping legislation to heavily restrict or effectively ban abortion in the past year. Shortly following the decision, we conducted a survey about the impacts of this harmful legislation on our community. With your participation we were able to collect data on abortion access, personal and professional impact, and employer benefits for reproductive healthcare. Please find results from this survey below:


Last spring, we conducted a survey about the effects of COVID-19 on our community. Then earlier this year, we created a follow-up survey to better understand the ongoing and long-term impact of the COVID-19 pandemic on the art world. With your participation, we were able to collect additional data from almost 150 members of our community to compare against our initial survey. Please find both survey results below.

We’re making the art world more transparent.

The POWarts Salary Survey was the first comprehensive salary survey focused exclusively on the visual arts, spanning the for-profit and nonprofit sectors. The findings deliver actionable compensation data to inform and assist career progression and compensation negotiations.
